Google have started testing its latest “futuristic” project which is a “Star-Treck” like glasses called “Project Glass”.
These glasses are better described as a built-in smart computer with WiFi/3G, GPS, HD camera and video, as well as a two way audio communication in addition to voice commands and scheduler!
Pretty amazing, right?

Google Project Glass - Memega

It seems that the late visionnary Steve Jobs was not wrong when he had foreseen the iLens becoming true within 4 years (iLens and iRing: Steve’s Vision Within The Coming 4 Years? ).

The Google Project Glass is being tested by a couple of the development team of Google X department.

New iPad Thermal Images - Memega

In the last couple of days after the release of the new iPad, I was waiting for some reviews from worldwide early users to see what was there impression and feedback regarding their new jewel.

The most noticeable aspect of the new iPad, despite the relatively minor changes in the specifications compared to the iPad2, many have experienced hot temperatures over the new iPad and it gets hotter more than its predecessor (iPad2) and even compared to other tablet models in the market.

Many have complained to Apple regarding this issue and the official Apple statement was that we (Apple) have found that the new iPad operating temperatures are within the norms.

Some say that the fact that the display is twice as the iPad2 is the reason behind this increase in temperatures.

Experts around the world have tested and compared the new iPad operating temperatures to other tablets and I have summarized these results in the below table.

New iPad VS Previous Tablets Thermal Comparison - Memega

In terms of changes (and why I have mentioned earlier “relatively minor changes”), it can be summarized as such:
•	New iPad processor A5x (slightly faster than the iPad2 A5)
•	iSight camera HD front camera
•	More powerful battery (11,666mAh compared to 6,944mAh for the iPad2), but only to compensate the power consumption of the display and will not give you extra hours!
•	Display 2,048 x 1,536 with 264 pixel per inch (ppi) (against 132 ppi for the iPad2)
•	4G technology compared to 3G for the iPad2

Other than that, there is an increase in weight by 50 grams and in thickness by 0.6mm.
If you didn’t got yourself and iPad2, then the new iPad is the one to have, but not much worth the upgrade if you already have an iPad2.

For the record, Apple sold more than 3 million units in the first couple of days from launch date, this excluding the pre-orders placed and have beaten the sales figures of the iPhone 4 and 4S!

So, are you going to get the new iPad or will wait for the next one (iPad3)?

MasterCard have launched a new smart service in Australian cinemas called QkR (Quicker) which will help you avoid missing interesting parts of your favorite movie!

What IF this is implemented by a restaurant here in Saudi Arabia?
Wouldn’t this help avoiding wrong orders and… some ordering delays?
It will also help business owners to reduce their cost, right?

Check out this small demonstration and if you like it, then recommend it to a friend of yours who owns a restaurant or cafe!
He can be a pioneer in one of the oldest businesses in the world!

We all use in our daily life or at least have a laptop, tablet, mobile phone and a camera.
Isn’t it a hassle to synchronize all our data among these devices?
What IF, all these will be combined into one device?
The world award winning designer Prashant Chandra an industrial designer from India, designed a concept Fujitsu Lifebook that has it all, literally!
This Lifebook uses the concept of “shared hardware” which will enable sharing the processing power, battery life and synchronizing data among these combined devices.
The tablet, once inserted into the laptop, will become a full touch keyboard, or a secondary screen, or even a gaming control device.

The camera, once docked into the back of the screen will turn into a high resolution webcam and synchronize images into your laptop.
As for the smartphone, it can be inserted to the front and will increase the processing power and battery life of the laptop.

Unfortunately, this is still a concept, but we might see it in the market in a couple of years, as we have seen the Asus PadFone which combines a tablet to a smartphone!

Around six years ago, Nissan have developped a scratch shield or coating that repairs scratches not only on cars, but on any painted surface!
After using this new kink of painting on cars such as the Nissan Murano, 370Z and X-Trail, along with Infiniti models, Nissan will start applying this revolutionary shield on iPhone cases designed by Nissan.
Prototypes have been distributed to selected journalists and customers as “BETA” release, and if Nissan will have enough requests, this new case will be released into the market later this year for iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S (sorry BB users!).

So, how does this shield works?

A detailed article in gizmag.com describs it as follows:
“The Scratch Shield paint is made from polyrotaxane, which has a chemical structure that is able to react and change back to its original shape and fill the gap that results from a fine scratch. Small scratches can heal in as little as an hour, while more severe scratches can take up to a week. Aside from its self-healing properties, Nissan says the Scratch Shield paint also provides a surface that is more gel-like and easier to grip than the glossy surface produced by conventional paint.”

Pretty impressive, right?

So the next time you pass by Murano, 370Z, Xtrail or new Infinity cars, give it a touch to feel this gel-like painting!
